Hemp is nature's strongest and most durable fiber, three times stronger than cotton fabric. Conventional hemp plants are robust enough to withstand weeds and bugs and have a high resistance to disease, so they don't require the use of harmful pesticides. The hemp plant itself requires very little watering, which helps alleviate water shortage problems. For this project from HGTV's Carter Can, Carter Oosterhouse created a headboard with hemp-based fabric.
