Neil Kelly cabinets are made from wood that's been sustainably harvested.

If you love the look of beautiful wood cabinets, but want to protect the earth's resources, consider Neil Kelly's Natural Collection. Neil Kelly cabinets use only Forest Stewardship Council-certified wood for its panels, which means that the wood has been harvested sustainably.

"People don't realize that most kitchen cabinetry contains formaldehyde, which off-gases into their house," says LEED-certified designer Deborah Crosby from the Green Fusion Design Center. When you buy eco-friendly cabinets, not only are you helping the planet, but you may be lowering your health care costs. "People can develop all kinds of issues from exposure to formaldehyde," says Crosby.

These Energy Star-rated cabinets — which are available in a wide variety of styles, from Traditional to Asian to Craftsman — feature formaldehyde-free wheatboard cores (rather than particle board) and use only natural soy-based glues in construction.
